We’re proud to share the successful completion of Frann’s Fieldhouse at Heidelberg University (HU) in Tiffin, Ohio. Frann’s Fieldhouse is the largest new construction project on Heidelberg’s campus in recent history and was entirely donor-funded, including the single largest estate gift in the school’s history.

Serving as a hub for student activity, athletics, and academics, the 110,000 SF facility, with 88,000 SF being a pre-engineered metal building, supports football, soccer, track, basketball, volleyball, and marching band programs. Key features include a filming deck, storage spaces, offices, conference rooms, locker rooms, training room, weight room, and a tiered seating area for students to gather, study, and observe sporting events.

The project team was engaged early in the preconstruction process to provide budgeting, constructability reviews, scheduling, site logistics, and value engineering solutions. Our self-performance teams tackled key scopes such as doors, frames, hardware, cabinets, and track area wall pads.

The Fieldhouse, affectionally coined “the crowned jewel” by Heidelberg, is also dedicated to a major HU figure and alum, Frann Zverina, class of ’74. Not only was Marker able to construct a state-of-the-art Fieldhouse, but they were able to ensure all students and faculty who entered its doors felt connected to its namesake, as HU states that entering the finished Fieldhouse felt like connecting with her spirit through the details and design.
